The EU Pay Transparency Directive is now live. Here is how it interacts with US state laws and what it means for global energy employers.
The EU Pay Transparency Directive requires employers to publish a salary or range for advertised roles in EU member states. This complements existing rules in California, Colorado, Washington, New York City and Illinois.
For remote roles the rule is stricter than many employers realise: if the role can be performed from a covered jurisdiction, disclosure obligations apply — even when the employer is not headquartered there.
