Power & Energy Careers Platform Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 3 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the Power & Energy Careers websites, applications, microsites, dashboards, recruitment tools, candidate database, community features and related services, collectively referred to as the “Platform”.

By creating an account, accessing or using the Platform, purchasing a service or accepting these Terms, you agree to comply with them.

If you use the Platform on behalf of a Company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that Company to these Terms.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

1. Definitions and user categories

In these Terms:

“Candidate” means an individual who creates a profile, uploads a CV, searches for work, applies for a job, joins a talent community or otherwise uses candidate services.

“Company” includes a direct hiring organisation, corporate employer, recruitment agency, executive-search firm, staffing or labour-supply business, recruitment-process outsourcing provider, authorised recruiter or another organisation using the Platform for legitimate recruitment purposes.

“Company User” means an authorised recruiter, hiring manager, Company administrator or other person permitted to access a Company account.

“CV” includes a CV, resume, professional profile, cover letter, portfolio and related candidate information.

“Resume Database” means the searchable database containing profiles and CV information made available to authorised Companies in accordance with candidate visibility settings and Company access permissions.

“User” means a Candidate, Company User, visitor, community member or any other person using the Platform.

2. Eligibility and accounts

The Platform is intended for individuals aged 18 or over.

You must provide accurate, current and complete account information.

You are responsible for:

  • protecting your password and authentication credentials;
  • preventing unauthorised access to your account;
  • ensuring that information submitted through your account is accurate;
  • keeping your contact details current; and
  • notifying us promptly if you suspect that your account has been compromised.

Accounts are personal to the registered account holder and must not be shared, transferred or made available to an unauthorised person.

Company administrators are responsible for controlling access to their Company account and removing access when a Company User no longer requires it.

We may require Candidates, Companies or Company Users to complete identity, business, email, mobile or authority-verification checks.

3. Candidate use of the Platform

Candidates may use the Platform to:

  • create and maintain a candidate profile;
  • upload, create, edit and store a CV;
  • search for jobs;
  • save jobs and searches;
  • apply for positions;
  • receive job alerts and communications;
  • communicate with Companies;
  • use available CV and career tools; and
  • choose how their candidate profile is displayed within the Platform.

Candidates confirm that:

  • information submitted through the Platform is truthful and not deliberately misleading;
  • they have the right to provide all submitted information;
  • they have permission to provide information concerning referees or other third parties;
  • their CV and profile do not contain unlawful, fraudulent or infringing content; and
  • they will not impersonate another person or create a false professional identity.

Candidates should not include unnecessary highly sensitive information, passwords, banking credentials, complete payment-card information or unrelated medical information in a CV or profile.

Power & Energy Careers does not verify every statement contained in a candidate profile or CV.

4. Candidate profile and CV visibility

Candidates can choose whether their profile and CV are searchable by authorised Companies and recruiters.

Where searchable visibility is enabled, authorised Companies may, depending on their access rights and the candidate’s settings:

  • find the Candidate in search results;
  • view candidate-profile information;
  • preview or view the Candidate’s CV;
  • view available contact details;
  • contact the Candidate;
  • save the Candidate’s profile;
  • copy permitted information; or
  • download the Candidate’s CV.

Searchable-profile visibility is separate from marketing preferences, job alerts and acceptance of these Terms.

4.1 Temporary hidden-profile setting

A Candidate may temporarily hide their profile and CV from Resume Database searches.

The hidden setting currently lasts for three months.

Before the hidden period expires, Power & Energy Careers will send a notification to the Candidate using the contact information associated with their account.

To remain hidden, the Candidate must log in before the stated expiry date and extend the hidden setting for another three-month period.

If the Candidate does not extend the hidden setting before it expires, the Platform will automatically restore searchable visibility.

The expiry date and temporary nature of the hidden setting should be clearly displayed to the Candidate when the setting is selected and within the Candidate’s account.

Candidates may repeat the three-month hidden period by renewing the setting through their account.

Candidates may also close or request deletion of their account, subject to applicable legal, security and retention requirements.

4.2 Information already received by a Company

Changing a profile to hidden prevents future Resume Database searches from displaying that profile while the hidden setting remains active.

It does not retrieve or delete information that a Company has already lawfully:

  • received through a job application;
  • viewed;
  • copied;
  • downloaded;
  • exported;
  • transferred into an applicant-tracking system; or
  • retained for its own lawful recruitment purposes.

The relevant Company is responsible for information it independently controls. Candidates may need to contact that Company directly.

5. CV parsing and profile creation

When a Candidate uploads a CV, the Platform may use artificial intelligence and automated document-processing technology to:

  • read and analyse the CV;
  • extract professional information;
  • identify job titles, employers and employment dates;
  • identify skills, qualifications and certifications;
  • identify education, languages, locations and sector experience;
  • calculate or estimate periods of experience;
  • standardise related professional terminology; and
  • place extracted information into the corresponding candidate-profile fields.

CV parsing is intended to assist profile creation and improve searchability.

Parsed information may be incomplete, inaccurate or placed in the wrong field. Candidates are responsible for reviewing and correcting their profile before relying on it or making it searchable.

The original CV may remain stored alongside the structured candidate profile, subject to the Candidate’s visibility settings and our Privacy Policy.

7. Company and recruiter responsibilities

Companies may, subject to their account permissions, subscription, licence and credit balance:

  • create and manage a Company profile;
  • publish job advertisements;
  • receive and manage applications;
  • search the Resume Database;
  • view or contact Candidates;
  • save searches and candidate profiles;
  • copy or download permitted candidate information;
  • use AI-assisted candidate-search tools; and
  • manage authorised Company Users.

Companies and Company Users must:

  • use candidate information only for legitimate recruitment purposes;
  • comply with applicable privacy, employment, equality, immigration and anti-discrimination laws;
  • ensure that search criteria are lawful, relevant and proportionate;
  • exercise meaningful human judgement when using AI-assisted results;
  • maintain appropriate security for candidate information;
  • restrict access to authorised personnel;
  • provide Candidates with any privacy notice required for the Company’s own recruitment processing;
  • honour applicable candidate privacy rights;
  • comply with agreed retention and deletion requirements; and
  • notify Power & Energy Careers promptly of suspected misuse or unauthorised access.

The availability of a search field, filter or AI capability does not mean that its use is lawful in every country, recruitment process or situation.

Companies remain responsible for determining whether their use of age, gender, nationality, location, right-to-work, visa, sponsorship or other criteria is lawful.

Companies must not use candidate information for:

  • unrelated direct marketing;
  • unauthorised resale;
  • data-broker activity;
  • unrelated database building;
  • identity enrichment unrelated to recruitment;
  • unlawful discrimination;
  • general-purpose AI-model training;
  • unauthorised automated harvesting; or
  • any purpose unrelated to legitimate recruitment.

8. Job advertisements

Companies are responsible for the accuracy, legality and completeness of their job advertisements.

A job advertisement must not:

  • be false, misleading or fraudulent;
  • advertise a role that does not genuinely exist;
  • impersonate another organisation;
  • contain unlawful discriminatory criteria;
  • request unnecessary sensitive information;
  • contain malicious links or software;
  • facilitate unlawful activity;
  • infringe another person’s intellectual-property rights; or
  • breach applicable employment, advertising, salary-transparency or consumer-protection law.

Salary, benefits, location, work-authorisation and equal-opportunity information must be included where required by applicable law.

Power & Energy Careers may review, reject, suspend, edit or remove a job advertisement that appears to breach these Terms, applicable law or Platform standards.

9. Job applications and recipients

When a Candidate applies for a job, the Candidate instructs Power & Energy Careers to transmit the application and associated information to the relevant Company and its authorised recipients.

A Company may configure recruiters, hiring managers, colleagues, agencies or external email recipients to receive applications and notifications.

The Company is responsible for ensuring that every recipient:

  • is authorised;
  • requires the information for recruitment;
  • protects candidate information appropriately;
  • maintains confidentiality; and
  • uses the information lawfully.

Power & Energy Careers may record application and transmission information for security, audit, support and dispute-resolution purposes.

Power & Energy Careers does not control the Company’s final recruitment process, response times or hiring decisions.

10. Credits, subscriptions and billing

Certain Company services may require payment, a subscription, a licence or Platform credits.

Prices, taxes, credit requirements, service duration, renewal terms and payment conditions will be displayed in the applicable order form, checkout page, quotation or Company agreement.

Job-posting credits are deducted when a job is published.

Credits used to publish, extend, feature or promote a job are non-refundable once used, except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

Extending a job advertisement or purchasing an additional feature may require further credits.

A recurring subscription will only renew where this is clearly stated in the applicable order form, checkout process or Company agreement.

Companies remain responsible for charges incurred through authorised use of their account.

Suspension, closure or termination of a Company account does not automatically cancel charges, invoices or contractual commitments that arose before termination.

11. Communications

Users may receive necessary service communications including:

  • account-verification messages;
  • security notifications;
  • application confirmations;
  • Company or Candidate messages;
  • billing and subscription notices;
  • important Platform updates;
  • legal notices; and
  • support communications.

These messages are separate from optional marketing.

Marketing, newsletters, job alerts and other optional communications are managed through the relevant account setting, registration choice or unsubscribe mechanism.

12. User content and content standards

Candidates and Companies retain ownership of content they submit, subject to any rights belonging to third parties.

By submitting content, the User grants Power & Energy Careers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, transmit and otherwise process that content to operate, secure, improve and provide the Platform.

This licence lasts for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes or enforce these Terms.

Users must not submit content that is:

  • unlawful;
  • fraudulent;
  • defamatory;
  • threatening;
  • discriminatory;
  • misleading;
  • harmful;
  • malicious;
  • sexually exploitative;
  • infringing;
  • confidential information disclosed without authority; or
  • designed to interfere with or compromise the Platform.

We may moderate, restrict or remove content that appears to breach these Terms or applicable law.

13. Prohibited use

Users must not:

  • scrape, harvest or systematically extract Platform or candidate data;
  • use automated tools without our written permission;
  • bypass access, download, rate or security controls;
  • attempt to access another User’s account;
  • share Company login credentials;
  • introduce malware or harmful code;
  • interfere with Platform operation;
  • reverse engineer protected Platform functionality except where law expressly permits;
  • create fraudulent accounts, jobs or applications;
  • use the Platform to harass or deceive another person;
  • resell candidate information;
  • use candidate information for unrelated marketing;
  • use the Platform for unlawful surveillance or profiling;
  • copy substantial parts of the Platform or Resume Database;
  • test Platform security without written authorisation; or
  • assist another person to carry out prohibited activity.

14. Privacy and data protection

Our collection and use of personal data are explained in the Power & Energy Careers Privacy Policy.

Acceptance of these Terms is separate from:

  • acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy;
  • searchable-profile visibility;
  • marketing preferences;
  • job-alert preferences;
  • cookie choices; and
  • any consent required for a specific processing activity.

Companies receiving candidate information generally become responsible for their own subsequent processing of that information.

Companies may be required to enter into additional data-protection, processing or international-transfer terms.

Privacy and data-protection enquiries may be sent to: privacy@powerandenergycareers.com

Security concerns may be sent to: support@powerandenergycareers.com

15. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its software, branding, logos, design, databases, search functionality, original content and technology, is owned by or licensed to Power & Energy Careers.

Except as expressly permitted through the Platform, Users must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, licence, reproduce or create derivative works from protected Platform content or technology.

Candidate and Company content remains subject to the ownership and licence provisions in these Terms.

Feedback or suggestions submitted to Power & Energy Careers may be used to improve the Platform without an obligation to compensate the person providing the feedback.

16. Third-party services

The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party services including:

  • Company career websites;
  • applicant-tracking systems;
  • payment providers;
  • identity providers;
  • assessment tools;
  • communication services;
  • video-interview providers;
  • professional networks;
  • training providers; and
  • external websites.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices.

Power & Energy Careers does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, recruitment decisions or practices of an independent third party.

17. Platform availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable Platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available access.

We may:

  • maintain or update the Platform;
  • add, change or remove features;
  • restrict a feature by country or user category;
  • impose reasonable usage limits;
  • suspend access for security reasons; or
  • discontinue a service.

Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of a material change that significantly affects an active paid service.

18. No guarantee of employment or recruitment outcome

Power & Energy Careers provides a recruitment technology platform.

We do not guarantee:

  • that a Candidate will receive an interview or job offer;
  • that a Company will find or hire a suitable Candidate;
  • the accuracy of every CV, profile, job advertisement or AI output;
  • the identity, qualifications or conduct of every User;
  • that every application will receive a response; or
  • the outcome of a recruitment process.

Power & Energy Careers is not the employer, recruitment decision-maker or employment agency of record unless expressly agreed in a separate written contract.

Candidates and Companies remain responsible for their own checks, decisions, communications and contractual relationships.

19. Warranties and liability

The Platform is provided on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms.

Power & Energy Careers is not responsible for indirect, consequential or unforeseeable loss arising from use of the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or another liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Users remain responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect their own systems, accounts, information and business continuity.

20. Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account or service where we reasonably believe that:

  • these Terms have been breached;
  • the account presents a security risk;
  • fraud or unlawful activity may be occurring;
  • candidate information is being misused;
  • required payment has not been made;
  • access is required to protect another User;
  • a competent authority requires action; or
  • continued access could expose Power & Energy Careers or another person to legal or operational risk.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

A User may close their account, subject to outstanding contractual, payment, retention and legal obligations.

Provisions concerning intellectual property, candidate-data use, payments, confidentiality, liability, dispute resolution and other terms that logically need to continue will survive account closure or termination.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect:

  • changes to the Platform;
  • new services or functionality;
  • legal or regulatory developments;
  • security requirements; or
  • changes to our business structure.

The updated Terms will display a revised “Last updated” date.

Where a material change affects an existing User, we may provide additional notice and request renewed acceptance where required.

22. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are currently intended to be governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, unless:

  • an applicable Company order form or written agreement identifies a different Power & Energy Careers contracting entity or governing law; or
  • mandatory local law gives a User rights that cannot legally be excluded.

This section requires final confirmation once the Power & Energy Careers UK and UAE entity structure and contracting arrangements have been completed.
